Mr. Sammie Lee McKay was born December 11, 1947 in Gifford, Florida (Neighborhood within Vero Beach, Florida) to Lucius McKay and Lacey Bell McKay.
The family later moved to Riviera Beach, Florida where Sammie graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. He worked after school at Pantry Pride. He later moved to Orlando, Florida and began employment at Hughes Supply Company until his accident in January 1990.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge #890 and Royal Psalms Drill Unit.
Sammie was preceded in death by his parent, Lucius McKay and Lacey Bell McKay and last but not forgotten his very special granddaughter, Jayla Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish precious memories: a loving wife, Constance; one son, Sammie Lee McKay, Jr. of Riviera Beach, Florida; daughters, LaShon McKay Brown (Chris) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Shonda D. Johnson and Tanika Bango-Cooper (Curtis) all of Orlando, Florida and Eboni Bango Barnes (Marcus) of Houston, Texas; a host of grands, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, friends and neighbors.
