Michael "Moose Mike" David Bataglia, 27, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2019 after a long battle with leukemia surrounded by family and friends in a circle of love.
Mike was born in Durand, WI on June 18, 1992 son of Lori (Bataglia) Carr and David Ward. Mike was an avid sports enthusiast and a lifelong follower of the Green Bay Packers. He loved ice hockey, football, enjoyed the outdoors, and was always ready to have a good time. He loved games… board games, miniature games, computer games, card games; you name it. He was always down for a good game or two. He was a beautiful, loving, outstanding human being who was taken from this earth too soon. He was a true friend to his friends, and they in turn were true to him. Mike is survived by his loving mother Lori, step-father R. Glenn Carr Jr., step-father John Mickow, grandparents Lyle Bataglia, Wayne and Barb Ward, Danny and Linda DeOrian, and Robert and Sue Carr. Michael’s siblings are John & Jessica Wayne, and Mary Ward. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Barb Bataglia, and Carl and Dolores Mickow. Mike leaves behind his beloved fiancée Brittany Marriott and her parents Scott and Bridgett Marriott , sisters Lauren and Sarah, and grandmother Judy Wayne; whom he loved. His faithful and loving German shepherd, Jackson, will miss him very much. Mike’s friends were very important to him, too numerous to count. You know who you are. As Mike would say, “If you have to ask, you’re not.”
A Memorial Service will be held at A Community Funeral Home & Sunset Cremations at 10:00am on November 9th, 2019. A Celebration of Life will follow the service from 2:00pm – 6:00pm at First Baptist Church of Orlando (3000 S John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805).
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, Mike’s family would appreciate donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (https://www.lls.org) in memory of Team Moose Mike. Mike was not really into flowers but he wanted a cure for everyone.
