Robert Scheungrab was born on December 17, 1933 in Washington DC and grew up in La Plata, Maryland. He was called to join the Lord and his beloved wife, Elane, on January 4, 2020.
He is survived by his children, Robin Conover, John Scheungrab, Debbie Scheungrab, Robert S. Scheungrab, his grandson and granddaughter Eric Scheungrab and Chelsea Scheungrab and his great-granddaughter Alina Jane Scheungrab.
Robert served in the Army during the Korean War as a teletype operator/analyst and spent most of his service in the Philippines. After leaving the Army, he went to work for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company as a lineman. He worked for Southern Bell and AT&T in Orlando, Florida before his retirement after 37 years of service. He was active in Telephone Pioneers of America while working and spent his retirement years leading and volunteering with the AT&T New Outlook Volunteer Pioneers.
He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church for many years and was active in the church. He especially enjoyed attending the annual Fish Fry. He also loved vacationing on Sanibel Island, spending time with family and friends, playing cards, boating and skiing, and drinking a beer or two.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at A Community Funeral Home & Sunset Cremation (910 W. Michigan St, Orlando, FL 32805) on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. Friends and family are encouraged to share a memory and sign his guest book.
